TUT Provided By Talon Start by installing Filezilla from http://filezilla-project.org/. Once installed, start the program. Once the program starts, go to File and select Site Manager. Under site manager are the important fields, and doing it here will allow you to save your settings. Click the New Site button, and type in a descriptive name. The host is the IP address your server is on; for example 173.237.234.102. The Port will always be 1745, and server type will be FTP - File Transfer Protocol. Logon type is Normal. Your username will be the same as your minecraft.tgservers.com login, with a period and a number at the end : %Username%.X The password will be the same as your minecraft.tgservers.com password. With that information in place, click Connect. Welcome to your Minecraft server. If you have any issues, doublecheck your settings before contacting support. The main mistake would be not setting the port to 1745. Once you have connected, you will see the files on the server to the right, and a local folder on the left. You can change where this local folder is by browsing around or typing a new address in the bar. If you are running the Default Minecraft Jar, you will see various files (server.properties, ops.txt, white-list.txt, etc) and a single folder named World. If you are running Craftbukkit, in addition to those files you will see a folder called Plugins. If you install any bukkit mods, this is where they will go. An explanation of server.properties can be found here : http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Server.properties You may need to download ops.txt and add your Minecraft username to the list. Once there, you can op other users in-game with the /op command. Frmo there, http://www.minecraftwiki.net contains useful information for configuring and running the server, though many of the files can be manipulated from the Web interface at minecraft.tgservers.com |
